The West Australian article and video

I just returned home from an incredible experience in the north west of Australia.

A bunch of artists and musicians travelled to the small historic town of Cossack (aka Bajinhurrba) in the Pilbara to set up recording studios and artists studios.

Have a look at the gallery below to see some of the pictures from our trip. Photos by the incredible Russell Ord.

It’s kind of hard to explain so here’s a little info about it….

IN SEPTEMBER 2017, OVER TWENTY-FIVE ARTISTS IN THE FIELD OF MUSIC AND VISUAL ART WILL CONVERGE IN THE HEART OF THE PILBARA WA, TAKING OVER THE WHOLE OF THE HISTORIC TOWN OF COSSACK FOR A WEEK OF CREATION, RECORDING AND COLLABORATION.

ARTISTS WILL EXPERIENCE SOME OF THE TREASURES OF THE PILBARA, ITS HISTORY, LANDSCAPES, CULTURE AND PEOPLE, THEN SEEK TO REFLECT THE EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE CREATION OF AN ALBUM, A FILM AND A VARIETY OF VISUAL ARTS, ALL WITH THE AIM OF EXPOSING AND GIVING BACK TO THIS AMAZING AND DIVERSE PART OF THE WORLD.

WE RESPECTFULLY ACKNOWLEDGE THE NGARLUMA PEOPLE AS THE TRUE CUSTODIANS
